Recently I started a new series of paintings called, "Noble Sports" The series consists of 5 pieces, the first of them is dedicated to archery, all works have a strong influence of art deco, as many of you know (or have noticed) my most recent works have this tendency, these pieces are based on sports that were popular in the 20's - 30's of twentieth century.

I have recently been in contact with many artists from every corner of the planet, I've been immersed in a fantastic journey that has led me to discover new sources of inspiration. One of these artists is Terry Cyr, an American photographer dedicated to the nude male, he is currently directing a project called "The Naked Man Project" or as he explains in his own words "One man's exploration in Finding Himself and His search for light, beauty, desire and art"

A few days ago he asked me a couple of questions to see different views regarding on how other artists find inspiration and how our evolution in art has been though the years, you can read my and the other artists answers here. Take your time to see this exciting project and hope you will find it as inspirational as I do.

It’s amazing how religion use many things to create fear, an institution that prides itself on providing love is in charge of scare us even with our own body, undermining the female figure, making us believe that it is okay if a woman is naked because they teach us to see women as an object, then a naked man is not okay because is comparable to a woman so that makes it even worse, we should redefine our values and understand that the human body is the most beautiful and pure thing for our own kind, and take away from our genitals the stigma of sin, destruction and degradation.

When we learn to celebrate the miracle of our specie, then this world will be different.

The public bath has always been a place for encounters, places with a big history to tell. Way back in Roman times a bath was an important social meeting place, and they were used to relax, to discuss political issues or just to make clear who was who in Roman society. Not only for the Roman men the bathhouse was popular, but for all men around the mayor cities in the old world, later in the 19th century the Bathhouses started to be popular among gay men in America, when being an homosexual was illegal and a crime against nature, they became places for casual encounters, where no one judge, where everybody looked for the same thing. The popularity of Bathhouses never fell out of fashion, even today are popular places for men all around the mayor cities, men who look for some time to relax or to spend a nice time with other men, just as in the old world.

Mexico approved gay marriage and as some say “Today the final barriers have come down.” unfortunately some groups (especially religious) started a war against this law and its followers, and after really sad and stupid public declarations a few people end up with a lawsuit because of their comments of dishonour, degradations and discrimination against the gay community.

Ironic thing about those who are supposed to spread God´s love and the only thing they give is "the word of hate"

Love is love no matter the religion, believes or culture, love is a basic need that every living soul in this planet needs. The right to love and to be loved is for everyone.

This dying year was the year of beginnings and endings, in other words, a rollercoaster, really sad times and at the same time real joyful ones. My friend Laurent said it right. I fought so violently that I almost lost the battle.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger, and I did survive so I guess I´m a lil stronger than before and ready to take those new things the next year has for me.

No, I did not vanish from planet earth. All the time I was sailing on the ship of work I kept thinking about you my treasure readers that wait for me so patiently at the shore. But I´m happy to finally come back to you.

From my last post till now I get involved in a movie production, I designed a magazine, put together a party for the presentation of a new company, and I started working on a new film, besides all that commissions here and there.

Here is the commission work of the official presentation of a friend´s company called "Happy beat" The Illustration below is part of this work. The whole thing contains 7 more illustrations, all with that religious atmosphere :P

The Rain keeps falling, I haven´t seen the sun for days, the skys keep crying over the city. The heavy sound of the rain drops over my little stone garden mix up with the music of Maaya Sakamoto playing inside my warm room. The rain will stay around for two more months and we are starting to get along just fine, she brings the atmosphere I put the imagination.

Voyage

Here´s the first page of my new comic story. This time I wanted to show you the process, from the sketch to the final result, the third pic is how this graphic look in traditional Japanese style, I didn´t like it, so I experimented a lot with the looks and colors, till I got something I really like, the last pic shows the result of that experimentation and this is how the whole story looks now, bright and colorful as clear as a day on the beach.

The story is called "VOYAGE" and is about four guys that got lost in the Pacific Ocean after a terrible storm. Their sailboat sink and they landed in a distant island, and the story begins here, when Jacques finds Paulo (The guy in the graphics) unconscious at the shore.

I´m going to publish this and Max stories later this year, this one is already finished but Max is a revel and keeps me working 24/7, what a bad boy, he´s asking for a good spanking :P

Lots of work and less of posts, I know guys, but the work with my comics are taking more time than expected, I promise to post my progress. Right now I´m finishing the cover of the most recent one, and the hard work with "Max" seems to never end, big plans for this two stories, but that´ll happen later this year, also in the next days I´ll open a gallery and wallpaper section so I´ll want you to dress your desktop up with me, OK? :P
As you can see I´ve been in no relax state, but incredibly happy because huge projects are coming over.

I hate guys that go direct to the action, guys only looking to POP like corn in the microwave, or those repeating actions like children who memorized the lyrics of a song in first grade, singing awful, guys who never say a word during sex make me feel like I´m with a rubber doll, and for the ones who think they are so gorgeous to have the right to be admire and to be pleased, better stay at Macy´s windows.

Sex is not an equation, sex not equals mouth-penis, penis-ass, what about the rest of the body? Not all is about being a hottie or have the biggest cock, it takes more than that to be attractive and be good in bed.

I also hate these things in porn, the action starts with a blowjob, then if we get lucky some rimming, finally a penetration, I swear I can almost hear the "director" screaming, NEXT!
No need to be a genius to understand why among the tons of porn today just a few stand up. back in time porn seems to be more honest and less show business, dealing with fantasies and showing real men. In the right moment the slave spoke with a bright voice. What time is it?
The master stayed calm for a moment, then he opened his mouth, a sound like a whisper came out saying. Time to run my hands all over over you.
The room was just illuminated by a small desk lamp. The slave looked impatient as the hands of the master didn´t move, then he said. I want to see my face.
These words made the master smile for a moment. He stretched his arms at the time he was saying. Don´t you want to see your cock first? Probably your face is the last thing you´ll see.
Now the slave looked disappointed rather than impatient. He decided to change the subject in the hope of making things go faster. Is there any word I need to know before you start?

The master took a deep breath and questioned. Did I ask you that?.
Yes you did.
The master continued with a very honest voice.I have the same fear every time I sit here. With the same honesty the salve told him. Yes, I know that, I´m a reflection of you.
What time is it? This time the master made the question.
Time to see my cock. The slave said.
Both smiled for the "made up" Deja vu till the master finally said. No. It´s time to color your life.

WOW WOW WOW!

I´m in a lot of changes, good ones, positive ones, that´s why I needed to see my blog a lil more brighter, I wanted it to be an extension of me, make it more personal. I´ll be adding more new things in the next days that you might like :P.

I did a lot of different graphics for the header, this one I choose, could be simple but it express exactly how I feel right now, naked and ready to take all the opportunities that comes in my life, with no masks, just me, bare and being myself. Hope you like it as I do.

I need a change

I´m working on a new image for my blog, I´m getting tired of the old one, in some way I can feel my work is changing, dunno how, but it´s happening, maybe none of you noticed because you know me for not so long. I´m really happy to see that since I started with this blog I found some really nice people on the way, and I want to take my time to thank you for your support and love. You know who you are, love you guys for making me feel that my work has a meaning, for being so kind and for understand that my English is not as good as I want to, besides the fact that I´m dyslexic :P

A long the way I stopped posting in Spanish, my short comments started to get bigger and bigger, I wanted to give you a lil more, I wanted to share with you not only my illustrations but also their background, what makes me paint, which things inspired me, ideas, history, memories etc...Then, it was almost impossible to make the whole translation, sorry for that guys :(

The tittle of this graphic is "The Acrobat" a metaphor of what is happening in my life right now. Siting there up in the highs, wishing to not loose the balance, enjoying myself, the beautiful view and the light coming to me, thinking deeply in what is going to be my next step. I can find my road more easily from up here.

The observer

While I was in bed I saw a guy watching me from my neighbor´s roof, I was naked and he certainly was enjoying it, I think it was that thing called voyeurism, I quikly cover myself and steped aside of his view, I´m sure it was not his intention to watch, it was an accident, he was working on my neighbor´s roof on that terrible hot morning. Then I realized I don´t like being catch by surprise, I guess I´ll prefer to be the observer if a moment like that repet.

For a "watcher" there will always be a "shower", I´m not telling something new, since the moment we started capturing images from the media we noticed that our world is paved with millions of things based on the old "see-show" play, from reality TV to porn, from private moments of people next door to celebrities, at the bottom line they are all the same. There is a well-paid industry that provide produts that people are willing see.

I think we all have some of voyeurists, the important thing is how we deal with it, I always belived that nothing is bad if we don´t over due to the point of hurting yourself or others, I even think that practincing any of the roles (watcher/shower) can be healthy in some cases, like in some longtime relationships that want to improve their sexual life, with this I´m not encouraging anyone to do it.

When it comes to sexuality, we know we have to be responsables for our actions, and all the "bla blas" that fall from that. Always remember that no matter how many preaches we hear about it, the only thing we need to do is: Respect yourself and respect the others.

Ten Little things

There are lots of reasons why I like the male body. Don´t worry I won´t tell you the long story, instead I listed only ten things (in no specific order).

Men feet, men in flip flops with clean, masculine feet.
A nice bulge in a tight underwear or in a swim suit.
Men in muscle shirts.
Hairy chest and hairy legs.
A heavy ball sack, smooth and hairless.
Uncuts.
A clean goatee always makes me feel like kissing.
The back of the neck with a short hair cut.
Masculine hands with clean nails.

Males band together

What about same-sex love? well if we can study the animal behavior we can discover that not only humans can develope desire for the same sex, there are a lot of species that practice the "wonders" of sex with equals, one good example are the Dwarf Chimpanzees that practice homosexuality to solve conflicts, these activities takes the focus away from violence. Wouldn´t be great if humans could solve the world differences in bed instead of being aggressive?

The Lions are another good example, often the males band together, they ensure loyalty and strengthen the bonds by having sex with each others.

If you thought that group sex is reserved only to humans, well, let me tell you that you are wrong, Dolphins from different species can be quite violent when they are in contact, but a good way to solve the problem is to having an orgy, a nice way to broke the tension.

We can find lots of animals that practice same-sex love, around 1500 species do it, from the Dwarf Chimpanzees that practiced throughout their lives to others that rarely do it, others like dolphins, Lions and some birds show homosexual monogamy, they can have the same partner for years even for their entire life.

If we think about it, we can see the world with different eyes, where not only humans enjoy, love and treasure sex between equals, that not only humans practice group sex or have monogamous relationships, that we are not the only ones that practice masturbation, the Orangutans even has a dildo under the bed as many of us, but only humans can carry the reason, understanding, and knowledge, so what we´re going to do about it?

Generation X

I love video games, I used to play with simple toys, then I had an ATARI now I have a play station and so on, I love to read, I hate politics, I love earth, I love people around me, I don´t believe in marriage, I saw the end of the Cold War, Internet came to me and say "hello", I defined my sexual orientation at very young age , I don´t trust in leadership, I believe in myself, I still feel like 20, I love clubbing, I still have vinyls, I still have cassettes, I own tons of cd´s, and my IPOD is full of music, I used to watch TV in Black and white, then in color, now in HD, I´m a optimistic/depressing, I never used drugs, I hate war, I´ve been in several existential problems, I still enjoy hearing "Dress you up", I was born in the age of AIDS, I will never be an alcoholic, I took my time, I read and do comics, I like porn, I like art, I´m sarcastic, I´m ironic, I don´t care about criticisms, I like to think things twice, but I´m not a lazy guy, I´m part of the Generation X, I don´t care if media thinks is dead, I don´t care if you like it or not, I always will be a GENX and if you ever wonder how does it feel like, I can tell, IT FEELS SO FUCKING GREAT!

The Exterminating Angel

I've been immerse in my work for 5 days now. My periods of creating are absorbing, once an idea is in my head I can´t stop till it´s done , but I think this time I exceeded myself, so I decided to steep back and give myself some time off...I need to relax.

I went jogging this morning, my body was craving for some fresh air and wants to leave the chair for awhile, I forced myself to walked out the door and give some rest to my hand and pencils. I feel much better now, this time off really gave me new energy to start working again :P, I won´t let the exterminating angel catch me again (if you ever seen this film, then you know what I´m talking about)

The Exterminating Angel effect (personal term) is when you are trapped in a place by your own will, and you want to leave, but for some strong reason you can´t. Have you ever been in this situation? I think everybody has experimented the exterminating angel effect at least once in their lives, mine is the creating prosses, which I prefer, rather than Mr. big depression.

Now I´m back to the world of the living, feeling great and with a smile upon my face as always.

More about Max, in this case Hoch

As you know, I´ve been working on a comic called "Max". I´m sure the final title will be another, but that is something I´ll decide when I finish it. Two years ago when I first try to do this comic, the story was about a police officer (Max) and a superhero (Hoch) but later I realize that I was tired of reading superheroes stories, that there are too many around, so I trashed the idea as soon as I thought about it.This comic was, for a year, part of the "almost forgotten works" till I found the original story line I wrote almost 3 years ago, I noticed that there were some aspects in the story that I really like, I took a lil from here and lil from there, and suddenly, a better story with great characters was there. Sometimes the process while creating is very natural and fluid, other times it takes the long road, other simply goes to the pile of no return. I had two more works in the same case of Max, one of them is a 5 year old baby, that needs a lot of research, it is meant to be a science fiction graphic novel, with a really complex story, and to make it a lil harder I´m writing it in a very "poetic" way, but this is part of another later post :P

Everything that I do, I do it first to myself, I don´t know if the people would like it or not, but that is something I don´t worry about when I´m working, I´m sure that at the end, among the people that understand my work there will be someone that´ll like what I do in some way (I bless them for that).

Here are two sketches from Max, this is Hoch, these are just tests, probably there will be changes, probably not, but I want to share this with you guys anyway.

I spend my childhood at the sea, I love the tropical adventures, flavors and smells, the sun heating the atmosphere, and the sand warming the feet, I came from a family of seamen (don´t make any bright remarks hehe), when I was a kid I remember playing in a boat my uncle was building, instead of having a car parked outside the house, he had a boat. He has a small crew of men who helped him with the normal sailor duties and I loved to go with them and play there all the time, pretending I was a big old sailor or a deadly pirate, I guess walking around all those half naked men affects my future perception of life, LOL.

I will always remember those amazing and magic moments, and will keep my passion for the fantastic view of the shore and the sound of the waves crashing to the rocks, a fresh seafood dish or a glass of juice of some exotic fruit, now I learn to enjoy "the other views" that give us the beach (the naughty thoughts go here).

I´m a city boy now, with a sailor in the closet waiting to come out and shout it from the boat tops!

A life in Technicolor

Nanshoku 男色 this Japanese (chinese) term that means literally "male colors", used to refer male-male- sex in the ancient Japan, but still in use these days to refer sexual pleasure.Today the words: Dōseiaisha 同性愛者 (same-sex loving person) and Gei ゲイ (gay) are more common.

In the history of Japan there are records showing that male-male love was considered as the purest way of love, The well known stories about of same-sex love between samurais give us an idea about the conception they had about this king of love in the taditional Japan .

The poet Saikaku Ihara(Ibara) dedicated a whole collection of poems about gay love called. "Nanshoku Okagami"(The great mirror of male love or Gay love between samurais)

Here is a fragment of a poem from the book . "Nanshoku Okagami"

He´s name was Itjikuro Banm and was guard of the province of Tsugaru and immensely rich. He was an enthusiastic of the viril love, and he did not waste a thought in women. At that precise moment he was on the road to Yedo to see a celebrated young actor called Dekeijima, whose beauty attracted the admiration of many men. His servant had received a letter from a friend in Yedo in which he praised the beauty of Dekijima, and Itjikuro had been put immediately on the way to see him.

In the poetry of Ihara we can discovered the recurrent tells about the daily life in Japan , showing us how men saw the male-male love (very different from today) in the XVII century.

Mind, Soul and Body

For the modern culture these three things are really important, and the media has badly taught us that the body is the "A" on the menu these days.

These concepts and values change at the same time our ideas about religion and society do, for example, in the ancient Egypt the human soul was very important, they believed that the soul was made of five parts: the Ib (Heart), the Ka(life force), the Ba(individual personality), the Ren (name), and the Sheut.(shadow). To ancient Egyptians the most important part was the Ib, today we know that emotions come from the brain, but they believed that the heart was the nest of emotions and thoughts, that´s why the heart of a dead person was very important during the mummification ceremony, when a dead person finally arrived to the underworld , the God Anubis was the one in charge of weighing the heart of the deceased against the feather of truth. So the todays Ib could be the mind, the ka our modern concept of soul and the Ha is the representation of the body, this concept has not changed much, for obvious reasons.

Wich of these three things are we looking for in a love partner? some of us go directly to the body. If you are into this category the next might sound familiar, "Fuck, He´s hot", "Wow, check that ass", " nice six pack abs", "great pair of low hangers", "what a package", "WOOF", "Love that chest" and so on...Now for the eternal soul seekers, what about this one, "Oh God, I think I´m in love , he is my soul mate" (saying this about the guy you met yesterday at the local bar. I know lots of these kind of guys). And finally the brains, mmh...mh...h, wait...amh...ok...mgh...No I can´t think of any good example... (sarcasm?)

We are always searching for that perfect someone that fulfill our basic personal concepts of Mind, Soul and Body. That smart guy with great sense of humor, with a loyal heart and a drop dead body. Are we gays guys never tired of this standards? let´s face it, the answer is NO.
Oh well, to be honest, deep down inside we all are looking for the same, To love and to be loved, don´t you think so ?

Love earth as you love yourself

Imaging if every single person change some habits for good.

Here´s a list of really easy things we all can do everyday, simple things that can help to save earth.

Turn off the lights every time you leave a room and turn them on just when you need it,

Unplugged every electric thing you are not using, does not work if you only push the off buttom, they still consume energy that way.

Leave your car in the garage once and a while and walk, more opportunities to catch up hot guys if you do so :P

Don´t ask for plastic or paper bags when you do your grocery shops, instead carry your own grocery bag with you when shopping, I know this is too gay but it helps a lot :)

Give a ride to your friends and family every time you can, better one car running on the streets than two.

Change the old light bulbs for savers, they give the same light using less energy.

Open up the windows so you can use natural light.

A hot bath is relaxing, but better take a shower, you waste less watter and less fuel to heat it, you can even save more if you share the shower with your partner in crime, it´s fun and hot.

If it´s cold, put a sweater on instead of turning up the heater, and if it´s hot, take a cold drink and get naked (this is also a lot of fun) so avoid cooling the whole house with the air conditioned.

This is a well known one, but no less important, RECYCLE, not only the garbage can be recycle, also things in your house that you can give them another use, like bottles, bags, paper sheets, etc.. I know you love to buy new things to replace the old ones but remember, not all goes to the garbage container.

And please DO NOT flush used condoms down the toilet.

Lets do something for the planet, paradise is on earth!

I´ve always been attract to images, since ever. When I was a kid I used to closed my eyes and try to capture in my mind the images around me, that was my first attempt to preserve the beautiful and simple things in life, later I learn about Art, spending hours reading art books, specially about classic painters, while the kids my age were doing the normal things for a 10 year old boy, I was imaging the worlds of Botticelli, Caravaggio, Tamara Lempicka, and Remedios Varo.

Along the way Pop Art came to me, changing the meaning of ordinary objects , it really caught my eye, so I have to say that my work is a fusion of a lot of things, but always keeping the touch of simplicity, and lot of gay erotica.

I guess I´ve always knew what I wanted to do in my life, then as part of that process I found that I wanted to express myself in some way and Art was the better way to do it, create has always been a primal need to me.

What about the lil skin around the glans and the Routine Infant Circumcision (RIC) ?
And why am I talking about it? because I have the need to do so :P

Here are some intersting facts on the subject:

Good Doctors do not support the Ric, only if it is medically necessary.

Unfortenatelly only in the U.S. Doctors routinely circumcises infants.

Social custom rather than a necessary surgery, There is no actual study that prove any health benefits, while some academics acknowledges that might be some benefits.

For an Infant is a traumatic thing because there is a very low porcentage of infants that receive anesthesia because the risks it brings.

Studies show that male children neither know or care about the circumcision status of their father.

One study suggests that there is no sensitivity difference, circumcision removes the thousands of nerves, including the frenulum, which is the most sensitive part of the male body. Also, without the protection of the foreskin, the glans kernatises over the years to protect from abrasion, burying nerves under up to 10 layers of lightly callused skin. The foreskin's gliding mechanism during intercourse is lost upon circumcision.

Infants will not remember being circumcised, but several recent studies suggest that there is a high correlation between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and circumcision. Furthermore, even babies that appear to "sleep" through circumcision show elevated heart rate, blood pressure, difficulty breathing and bodily stress, indicating that the sleep-reaction may in-fact be shock, which can cause lasting effects on an infants body and mind.

Most intact men do NOT chose to get cut later; the circumcision rate among intact men is less than .5% percent in America. In other countries, it is even lower. Also, due to recent information about circumcision, there is a large movement of cut men seeking to restore their lost foreskin through non-surgical and surgical methods. There are no statistics on this underground movement, though the network contains several mailing lists each with nearly a thousand members, and a recent book about restoration sold over 20,000 copies. There are also currently several lawsuits from men who are upset at being circumcised without their consent as infants.

For a lot of men that look for a foreskin restoretion hold deep resentment toward their parents for allowing this assault on their bodies, and at the end this can only be called "genital mutilation".
I´m not against infant circunsition if it is done for a good medical reason, what I really mean with this is that all of us has the RIGHT to choose what we do with our bodies, hope one day we can all say, Noone has ever violate my personal rights, and make a this world a better place to live.
The religious and legal stuff are a whole different story, that is why I don´t make any mention about it.

OMG! I cannot believe that my last post was over 3 months ago!

Instead of talking about my long time absence on my blog I´m going to talk about a project I´ve been working on. This is a comic about a detective who finds himself trapped between his job and his personal life, his name´s Max, 6'2", 32yo, and soon he will married to a beautiful lady, but he will find that marriage, maybe, it´s no longer an option for him, lots of intrigue, suspense and of course sex :P

I started with some sketches 2 years ago, but wasn´t till last month that Max showed his true personality and I started to make this character fit into a storyline, so I created for him a place to live and an interesting life. Right now i´m working on the first episode, actually a renew first episode, my initial attempt was complete different from what is right now, I wasn´t quite happy about the story so I decided to change it a lil bit, make it look more like a "Film Noir" now I´m really happy with the results.

I´ll keep posting news about Max :) for now here are two sketches.

I came up with the idea of taking your monster out of the closet because a friend asked me to do a poster for a gay Halloween party, to mix the Halloween celebration and the gay night life sounds hard, but the idea just pop in and I find it very funny.

So take your monster out of the closet and...bring him to the party, but be careful he could scare away all the cute guys, at least you´ll have someone to blame. LOL.
